McKibben Powersports of Lake Wales is an Epic Carts dealer at 20769 US 27 S, Lake Wales, FL 33853. We sell new Epic Carts, take trades on carts of any brand, set up accessories before delivery, and handle repairs in our own service department.

Epic Carts is the premium line from ICON EV, and the FX series is built to feel more like a small car than a traditional cart. Think digital display, backup camera, disc brakes at all four corners, seat belts and a lithium battery with onboard charging. For a lot of Polk County households that is the point. The cart is the second vehicle for the neighborhood, the pool, the clubhouse and the short run to a friend's house.

Polk County has a lot of places where a cart makes daily sense: lakeside streets in Winter Haven, planned communities off US 27 near Haines City and Davenport, and 55+ communities like Solivita in Poinciana where carts are part of everyday life. This page explains the Epic Carts range, the golf cart versus LSV question under Florida law, and how to pick the right cart for where you live.

New & Used Epic Carts for Sale in Lake Wales

Colors, heights and configurations arrive in waves, so the lot looks different from month to month. Here is how the Epic Carts range is laid out. Browse the live listings, or phone the store to hear what is parked out front today and what can be ordered.

Epic E40FX

The E40FX is the model most buyers come in asking about. It seats four facing forward, which many people prefer to a rear facing bench because everyone rides looking where they are going and talking to each other.

Epic offers it in two ride heights. It comes with the FX feature set: a large touchscreen display, sound system, backup camera, turn signals, lit mirrors, three point restraints, lockable storage front and rear, and four wheel disc brakes.

Epic E60FX

The E60FX is the six seat version for households that regularly move a crowd, such as grandchildren visiting for the summer, neighbors heading to the clubhouse together, or a group going down to the lake.

It is noticeably longer than the four seat cart. Measure your garage and driveway before you fall for it, and take it around a tight cul-de-sac on a test drive so you know how it turns.

Epic E20FX

The E20FX is the compact member of the family. It suits a single owner or a couple who want the FX finish and features without paying for seats they will not use, and it is easier to park and store.

It is also a sensible choice for golfers who actually play, since a smaller cart is easier on the course and simpler to fit into a garage bay alongside a car.

LSV builds and pre-owned carts

Epic markets the FX series as street legal, and LSV versions come equipped with the lighting, mirrors, windshield and belts Florida requires. An LSV still has to be titled, registered and insured before it goes on the road, and we will walk you through that paperwork at the sale.

Pre-owned carts come in on trade regularly. Ask us about the battery age and brake condition on any pre-owned cart.

Golf Cart or Street Legal LSV: What Florida Allows

The first thing we ask every cart buyer is where the cart will be driven. The answer decides if you need a golf cart or a low speed vehicle, and Florida treats them very differently.

Golf cart rules

Under Florida law a golf cart tops out at 20 mph. It can only be driven on roads the local government has designated for golf carts, which are generally roads posted at 30 mph or less. Operators under 18 need a learner's license or a driver license, and operators 18 and older need a government-issued photo ID. Inside many communities, carts run on internal streets and paths under rules the HOA or the city sets.

LSV rules

A low speed vehicle has a top speed over 20 mph and up to 25 mph, and it can be driven on roads posted 35 mph or less. It must be titled, registered and insured with PIP and PDL coverage, and the driver needs a valid driver license. Required equipment includes headlamps, turn signals, stop and tail lamps, reflectors, mirrors, a parking brake, a windshield, seat belts and a VIN.

Which one you need

If the cart stays inside your community or on designated cart roads, a golf cart may be all you need. If you want to cross a 35 mph road to reach a shopping plaza or a friend in the next subdivision, you need an LSV. Rules change and vary by city and HOA, so check current requirements with FLHSMV and with your city, county or HOA before taking any cart onto a public street.

Epic Carts Service and Parts in Lake Wales

Our shop works on Epic Carts in house: brakes, tires, alignment, steering and suspension, lighting and signals, charging problems, controller and motor diagnosis, and battery checks. We also install accessories, from sound upgrades to covers and enclosures.

A modern lithium cart asks for very little, but it does ask for some things. Keep tire pressure where it should be, because low tires cost range and wear the tread unevenly. Keep the cart charged when it is parked for long spells, particularly through summer heat when you might be away. If the cart lives outside, a cover protects the display, the seats and the plastics from Polk County sun, which ages them faster than anything mechanical will wear out.

If something does not feel right, such as a warning on the display, a brake that pulls or a charge that no longer lasts, book it in early. Small electrical issues are quicker to find before they turn into a cart that will not move.

Financing and Trading In Your Old Cart

A premium cart is a real purchase, and plenty of buyers prefer a monthly payment. Start the credit application online and we can have an answer ready when you arrive. Approval, rate and term depend on credit and are not guaranteed.

We take trades on carts of any brand, gas or electric. The single biggest factor in a trade value is the battery pack, so bring anything you have that shows its age or replacement date. Title and registration paperwork matters too if your current cart is a registered LSV.

Matching an Epic Cart to Where You Live

55+ and golf communities

In places like Solivita, the cart is how people get to the clubhouse, the pool and friends' houses. Comfort and easy entry matter more than anything else here, so the standard height E40FX is usually the pick. Check your community's cart rules, including any registration stickers or approved roads, before you buy.

Lake neighborhoods in Winter Haven and Lake Wales

Lakeside streets and short hops to a dock or a neighbor's place are ideal cart territory. If your route crosses a busier road, that is where an LSV earns its keep. Think about a rear seat that folds flat for coolers, bags and fishing gear.

Newer subdivisions near Haines City and Davenport

Many of the newer communities off US 27 have pools, parks and schools within a mile or two. An LSV lets you run those errands without starting the car, as long as the roads are posted 35 mph or less. Families here often choose the six seat E60FX so everyone fits in one trip.

Acreage and rural properties

On sand and grass, the taller ride height option gives more clearance. If you mainly need to haul feed, tools or fence supplies, an Epic cart may not be the right tool, and a utility side by side from our Polaris dealer page or Yamaha dealer page may suit you better. We sell both, so we can compare them for you.

Charging at home

FX carts charge through an onboard charger, so you plug the cart into a suitable outlet rather than carrying a separate charger around. Before delivery, check there is a grounded outlet near where the cart will park and that it is not shared with a freezer or workshop tools on the same circuit.

We sell new and pre-owned carts, fit accessories before delivery, and keep them running with our Lake Wales service department. Call 863.676.2245 to check what is on the lot.

Are Epic Carts street legal in Florida?

An Epic cart built and equipped as a low speed vehicle can be street legal in Florida once it is titled, registered and insured, and driven only on roads posted 35 mph or less by a licensed driver. A cart sold as a golf cart is limited to designated roads. Confirm current rules with FLHSMV and your local government.

Who makes Epic Carts?

Epic Carts is a division of ICON EV, the same company behind Icon golf carts. The Epic FX series, including the E20FX, E40FX and E60FX, is positioned as the premium line, with features such as a large touchscreen display, backup camera, four wheel disc brakes and a lithium battery with onboard charging.

What is the difference between a golf cart and an LSV in Florida?

A golf cart has a top speed of 20 mph and may only use roads designated by local government, generally posted 30 mph or less. An LSV reaches over 20 and up to 25 mph, may use roads posted 35 mph or less, and must carry required safety equipment and be titled, registered and insured.

Do you service Epic Carts and other golf carts?

Yes. Our Lake Wales service department repairs Epic Carts and other makes of golf cart even if you bought yours elsewhere, covering brakes, tires, steering, suspension, lighting, charging, controllers and battery diagnosis. We also install accessories on new and existing carts. Paperwork on the cart and battery pack helps us diagnose faster.
